Fawn Mckay
Fawn McCay Brodie, was born in Ogden Utah September 15, 1915. She was a member of the Mormon Church's very first family, Fawn McKay devoted her brilliant writing talents as well as her remarkable researching skills in the creation of the brilliant psycho-historical biography of Joseph Smith, published in 1945 under the title"No Man Knows My History. This title is derived from a funeral speech delivered by the founder of the Church of Latter-Day Saints in 1844. He shocked those he addressed with the words"You don't even know me." you never knew my heart. No one knows my story. Truth is that I'm not sure. Fawn an older woman, aged 29 said: "Since that moment of honesty at least three scores writers have taken on the challenge." Some have deified and abused the man, and others attempt to identify the issue. It isn't that there aren't enough documents but rather they are wildly divergent. Compiling these documents - - sorting through third- and first-hand sources, fitting the Mormons' stories to those of non-Mormons' into an authentic time-line - is a thorny task. This is exciting and also instructive. FawnBrodie dedicated herself to this profession. Thaddeus Stewards, which was the product of her writing and research has made her a famous author. The Devil Drives (1959) Scourge of the South Thomas Jefferson. The Intimate Histories (1974) as well as Richard Nixon.
