Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She's co-founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global, as well as the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington has been a TV host, journalist, philanthropist and author for more than 10 years. Her role also includes being the founder of The Huffington Post, an free-of-cost online news magazine. She moved out of Greece to England when she was 16 years old, and obtained a MA at Cambridge University in Economics. Being the first non-English-speaking student, she was elected president of The Cambridge Union' at the age of 21. Following after her college graduation, she became an influential right-wing syndicated reporter. In the years after that she launched The Huffington Post which featured critiques of the current political scene. The celebrity she enjoyed allowed her to persuade a number of famous people to share their opinions regarding current affairs, the culture and politics. Arianna rose to fame when she made the decision to stand for a non-partisan position for the California recall election to replace the then governor Davis. Arianna was also part of a Detroit-based project that promoted fuel-efficient automobiles. Forbes named her the "most important woman" within the field of media with her ranking at the 12th spot. Guardian placed her on their list of the 100 most influential media people in 2009. AOL Inc. named her president of their media division in 2011 following the acquired The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post included other AOL brands like Engadget, AOLmusic Style list or Patch Media. Elli was born to Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, and Elli the other, both of whom are journalist and management consultants. Her character was formed by her closeness to her mother as well as her relationship with her father, despite being extremely close to her father. When she was a teen she displayed leadership qualities that she's still known for. In the year she turned sixteen, she left the United States to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. In the time of her studies she was a member of Cambridge Union. After her graduation, she was a columnist-critic as well as a TV host.
