Anna Paquin is a Canadian and New Zealand actress. Paquin is a native of New Zealand, born in Wellington but was born and raised in Winnipeg began her acting career in The Piano. At age 11 years old, she became the youngest Academy Award winner ever for Best Actress. Anna Paquin's full title is Anna Helene Paquin. Born July 24th 1982 in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was the first Canadian birthed New Zealand actress. As as a young girl, she was awarded an Academy Award for best support actress. The role she played as the talkative and inquisitive young girl Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) was the reason she won the prize. Following a prompt for auditions, she was able to audition at age nine, and with little previous experience in acting when she was selected for the role of Flora McGrath part. The actress played teenagers as teens in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) and Almost Famous (2000). Also, she played the character of Polexia Aphrodisa.
